Galgotias School of Business (SoB) organised it’s second Research Seminar Series 2017(RSS 2017) on February 03, 2017 (Friday). The topic of the Seminar was – “Willingness to pay for Green Products: An Empirical Investigation of Indian Consumers”

Lead Speaker of the Seminar was Mohd. Danish Kirmani (faculty member of SoB).
Honourable Vice Chancellor Prof.(Dr.) Renu Luthra, respected Pro Vice Chancellor (Academics) Prof.(Dr.) Jayashankar Variyar, faculty members of SoB and different Schools, Research Scholars and MBA students attended the seminar.

GALGOTIAS STUDENT CONFERRED WITH INDIA’S TOP 100 YOUNG LEADERS AWARD. A VERY PROUD MOMENT FOR ALL GALGOTIANS!

Mr. Abhishek Agarwal, a social activist and motivational speaker from Noida has been conferred with the prestigious “India’s Top 100 Young Leaders Award 2017” by Indian Youth Forum. The award was conferred to 100 distinguishable young leaders in the age bracket of 18 – 30 for their commendable work in various fields.

Abhishek has been key note speaker at various national level entrepreneurship and social development conferences. He has also been showered with appreciation from leading personalities like Dr. Mahesh Sharma (Union Minister, Culture & Tourism), Shri. Arvind Kejriwal (Chief Minister, Delhi) for his contribution towards betterment of society.

He has been actively supporting the Acid Attack fighters, Nirbhaya cause among others. He is also the founder Nirmaan – Asia’s largest Youth Parliament.

ONCE AGAIN GALGOTIAS FACULTY BRINGS LAURELS TO THE UNIVERSITY

Two faculty of the School of Business-Dr. Nidhi S Natrajan, Assistant Professor, Division Chair Systems/IT, and Dr. Veena Mehta Grover, Assistant Professor, Division Chair (GM) have published a research paper in a book titled ‘Innovation, Technology and Development: A Road Map for Achieving Global Competitiveness’ published by Bharti Publications. The book has been listed in Amazon.com.

GALGOTIAS UNIVERSITY REGULARLY ORGANISES GUEST LECTURES FROM TOP GLOBAL PERSONALITIES WHO ARE A ROLE MODEL FOR YOUNGSTERS.


A 90 minute session on ‘Innovation Strategy’ by Mr Haja Mohideen, President and CEO Rocheston LLC, New York,was organised by School Of Business for its MBA first year students in the afternoon of Wednesday, 18th January in A-206.Mr Haja was accompanied by Mr Vasanth Davis, Vice-President- Accreditations, Rocheston, and a team of 4 members.It was attended by the acting Vice-Chancellor, Prof (Dr) Renu Luthra, Pro Vice-Chancellor (Academics), Dr Jaishankar Variyar, Dean, School Of Business, Dr Sadananda Prusty, Programme Chair (MBA), Dr Anamika Pandey and Manisha Singh, alongwith the students
The session was taken by Mr Haja Mohideen, who is the founder of Rocheston, a New York based Benchmark & Standards Company with Accreditation services in Business, Education and Professional disciplines. The Distinguished Magazine, Distinguished Awards & Recognition Program, the Nebula Metric Framework and the Distinguished Film Festival are some of the unique products launched at Rocheston. A Post graduate in Software Engineering from Staffordshire University, UK, with over 30 years of experience in IT, Mr. Haja built a multi-million dollar business in the United States.Mr. Haja has over 92 industry certifications in Software, Data Security and Internet Protocol from Microsoft, Apple, Google, Motorola, Intel, Cisco, HP, CompTIA and others. He owns multiple patents related to Mobile Phones and Operating Systems.He is the creator of ‘Certified Chief Innovation Officer’ and ‘Certified Master of Business Leadership (cMBL)’ certification and training programs launched in Universities and B-Schools around the world.
Mr Haja meticulously engaged the students and kept them engrossed for the entire session with his attractive presentation which was a brilliant mix of many audio-visual tracks. Mr Haja shared how Steve Jobs changed his thinking 10 years back and inspired him to challenge the rules of the world by creative thinking. Mr Haja talked at length about IOT or the ‘Internet of Things’ and shared how the world would look like in future. He showed the students a smart rope and a smart wallet with a chip and urged the students to keep things simple and think of ways to make life easier for the people at large.Mr Haja encouraged the students to ‘rethink, reengineer and reinvent’. He asked students to think and come up with one change they would like to make to their mobile phones and explained that innovation is not constrained by lack of opportunity, money or state of technology. He introduced a phone by the name of ‘Cyphone’ patented in 4 countries which is 100% his own innovation but its production is currently not possible due to lack of required technology.He also emphasized the importance of ‘liberal arts’ in shaping the creative side of one’s personality and convinced students to pursue art and music with passion.
The session got extended by half an hour as it was highly absorbing, interesting and captivating. It ended with participation certificates being distributed by Rocheston to the students and quite a few rounds of applause for Mr Haja Mohideen.The vote of thanks was proposed by Dean, School Of Business, Dr Sadananda Prusty.

GALGOTIAS TO COMPETE IN FORMULA BHARAT 2017

Team Automantra Racing from Galgotias University is participating in Formula Bharat, which is to be held in Kari Motor Speedway, Coimbatore from 26th to 29th January. Formula Bharat is an engineering design competition in which students from colleges and universities all over the country, compete with a life-size Formula-style vehicle in areas of engineering design, overall cost, marketability and dynamic performance. The series replicates the global student Formula series hosted in around 11 countries per year through months of hard work and dedication, students on Friday unveiled there vehicle AR-17.

Team Automantra Racing is the only team from Greater Noida to qualify for this competition. Out of 200 team all over India only top 40 teams are selected for the main race event . Previously this race was held at Buddha International Circuit.

Mr. Dhruv Galgotia, CEO Galgotias University, praised the students for their efforts and hardwork. He also shared the words of encouragement and inspired the team to have a successful race event.

Building upon lessons from pervious competitions, Automantra Racing has designed the vehicle to keep the weight at a minimum. They designed a custom space frame chassis from Chromoly Alloy. The other components are made from lightweight aluminum. The body work is designed to reduce as much drag as possible and made from high grade carbon fiber. The makes the total weight of the vehicle in the ballpark of 150 KG.

AR-17 packs inside a beast in the form of a 44BHP engine, landing an astonishing 301BHP/ton power-to-weight ratio. Generating a maximum torque of 35NM, AR-17 achieved a top speed of 160kmph, going from 0 to 100 in just 7 seconds.

For better on track performance, AR-17 features a 1:1 Steering ratio for the most accurate turns and feedback. Generating almost 1.8G of forces on turns, AR-17 sticks to the track even on tricky corners.
